At 4Recruitment Services, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and implementing sustainable business practices. This Carbon Reduction Plan outlines our approach to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 in alignment with UK government guidelines.

Our Carbon Reduction Goals

We aim to:

  • Achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050, with an interim target of reducing emissions by 50% by 2030.

  • Reduce energy consumption in our offices and operations.

  • Promote remote working and digital solutions to minimize unnecessary travel.

  • Work with sustainable suppliers and encourage eco-friendly recruitment practices.

  • Implement waste reduction and recycling programs.

  • Offset unavoidable carbon emissions through verified carbon offset schemes.

Current Carbon Reduction Measures

Scope 1, 2, and 3 Emissions

Scope 1 (Direct Emissions): Emissions from company-owned sources (e.g., boilers, company vehicles).

Scope 2 (Energy Indirect Emissions): Emissions from purchased electricity, heating, and cooling.

Scope 3 (Other Indirect Emissions): Includes business travel, employee commuting, and upstream supply chain emissions.

Baseline Year: 12 months commencing November 2022

  • Scope 2: 14.2 tCO2e

  • Scope 3: 35.337 tCO2e

  • Total Emissions: 54.54 tCO2e

Actions to Reduce Carbon Emissions

  1. Office & Energy Efficiency

    • Switched to LED lighting and energy-efficient equipment.

    • Encouraging a paperless office environment.

    • Partnering with renewable energy providers where possible.

  2. Sustainable Travel & Remote Working

    • Implementing hybrid work policies to reduce daily commutes.

    • Encouraging virtual meetings to limit business travel.

    • Promoting public transport and carpooling where in-person travel is required.

  3. Supplier & Partner Engagement

    • Prioritizing environmentally responsible vendors.

    • Collaborating with clients and partners to promote sustainable recruitment.

  4. Recycling & Waste Management

    • Providing recycling facilities at all office locations.

    • Reducing plastic and single-use materials in day-to-day operations.

  5. Technology & Infrastructure Changes

    • Installation of electric vehicle charging points at our Head Office.

    • Phased introduction of electric vehicles for company use.

    • Upgrading building insulation and HVAC systems for better energy efficiency.

    • Implementing sub-metering to track energy consumption in detail.

Monitoring & Future Plans

We review our Carbon Reduction Plan annually to update our targets and ensure alignment with the latest environmental best practices. We are also exploring partnerships with sustainability initiatives to further our impact.

Offsetting Emissions

We prioritize reducing emissions through behavioral, process, and technology changes. Where emissions cannot be eliminated, we will invest in verified carbon offset projects.
